Seiko-Epson keep pushing the limits of resolution with this nice sample display based on E-Ink which they have recently shown at Embedded Technology 2007, in Japan.
- 6.7-inch eInk panel with a resolution of 1200 x 1600 pixels.
- Resolution is 231 ppi to the old 167 ppi or 138% or 38% increase.
- Height is 6.93" (180mm) to the old 4.875" or 142% or 42% increase.
- Width is 4.93" (120mm) to the old 3.625" or 136% or 36% increase
- Thickness: 3mm
- Weight: 57g
- Contrast ratio: 8:1
- Reflectivity: 43%
- Redrawing time: 0.7s
It seems they are targeting different markets, or at least different system partitionings, as the display has some power of it's own for updating contents (one CR1220 button cell battery that will do 1,400 screen redraws) plus a USB port for information. I'm not sure if it will USB power or USB-charge.
