Article on Cnet.com here about how Princeton University is “embracing the Kindle” and will start producing “Kindle edition” text books for the term starting this fall.
Original story can be found at Christian Science Monitor. They correctly point out that “the Kindle is not very good at graphics or diagrams” and so will not be ideally suited to some types of textbooks.
They also mention that University of Califorina “already offers 40 and wants to publish more”, something which slipped me by, along with “Yale, Oxford, and UC Berkeley.”.
Not sure why Oxford (I’m assuming the UK’s Oxford, maybe it’s a US “Oxford”?) is doing it for the US sold Kindle….unless they know something about the rumored UK sale of Kindle.
